During the event someone asked which MIDI to MINIJACK connector ZOIA uses. The answer is “TRS” (tip-ring-sleeve) Type A.

This page indicates this format is “Used by manufacturers like Korg, Make Noise, Akai, and IK Multimedia (iRig MIDI 1). In 2018, it became the MIDI 2.0 Standard”

Here is the MIDI standard on TRS

And as an FYI Type B is “Used by manufacturers like Arturia (BeatStep Pro), Novation (Launchpad Pro), and 1010music”.

Novation is switching to Type A as noted in this post

Hey everyone, I had a great time doing this event. If you want to tune in to the ZOIA first birthday event on Zoom it will be happening here – starting at 10 EST. There will be workshops/Q&As during the day that transition to an open mic event at night. The full schedule is here –
and if you have any questions about ZOIA feel free to email me –, looking forward to seeing everyone in person again as well.
