Time and again, the Junkyard Social Club has donated their facility to Rocky Mountain Synthesizer Meet events providing a home for our community to gather, create, and connect.
Now they need our help. Last week’s fierce winds caused property damage, lost revenue, and equipment and food loss.

After sustaining some wild damage from last week’s hurricane-force winds, Junkyard Social Club could use a little love from our community.
What We Lost:
Our entire south fence was destroyed – including our beloved Protect Bodily Sovereignty mural by Leilani Derr. Despite driving in every few hours to batten down the fort, fuel the generator, and save our café stock, we still lost three fridges full of milk, cheese, deli meat, and enough perishable snacks to feed a tiny, hungry army.
Our ice machine is now glitching like it’s possessed, most likely due to a power surge when a neighboring transformer blew. Add in three days without power requiring us to close to the public, plus the cancellation of one public event, one homeschool class, and one corporate holiday party (with what would have been a large holiday bar tab) – the losses quickly climbed into the ten thousand range.
While the tally feels like it’s growing, it might not be worth an insurance claim and an inevitable rate increase.
The Good News:
Everything WE built and installed – play structures, junk giraffe, giant swings, treehouse – is still standing tall. And we’re back open now – please come visit us!
How You Can Help:
We’re bouncing back, but we need your help. Please consider contributing to our crowdfunding campaign to help us repair, recover, and grow more resilient.
With enough support, we’d love to invest in a backup power bank so we can keep the fridges running and maybe even stay open as a cozy community hub during future outages.
Chip in if you can, share if you’re able, and help us turn this storm story into a comeback story.
