RMSM #148 – 12th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION & GROOVEBOX INVASION at Junkyard Social Club, Wed July 17, 6-8:30pm – REGISTER NOW to Attend or Request a Performance Slot at

In celebration of our 12th anniversary and our 148th event, we’ll be invading the Junkyard Social club with rapid-fire 7 minute performances by RMSM members on single-machine groovebox & small rig performances by RMSM members.

Junkyard Social Club is donating the venue space so please come hungry and thirsty. They have full-service coffee shop brewing local Ampersand Coffee and their cafe offers small bites – like paninis, burritos, and small snacks. Their bar serves local beer, wine, and cocktails featuring DV8 Spirits.

The event is free but please take a moment to register as it helps us with our planning.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME TO THE STELLAR LOUNGE

We had an amazing turnout for the Stellar Lounge with 50 people at the peak of the event, with probably 75 in attendance. Attendees were people who registered through our event listing along with campers and paddle boarders at the park who saw the flyers.

The event was held on the runway of the Radio Controlled Airport at Chatfield Reservoir. There were three telescopes, one of which was super high-tech, using multiple digital images to take continuous compositing shots of objects.

Here is a picture I took as the event was starting off. When people were not looking through scopes, they could enjoy educational talks by State Parks & Wildlife, who had a table with educational information on night vision in animals. The astronomer was also offering educational information on the objects in the night sky. Between all this, people were just enjoying the night sky, sitting in their chairs and on their blankets. Some were enjoying late-night picnics.

I was at the West edge of the event and provided ambient music for the whole evening with my rig and PA completely on battery.

I did a detailed blog post on this rig here.
