RMSM #132 – Junkyard Concrète Experimental Music Sampling Workshop and Synth Meet  – Sunday June 4th, 5-7PM Mountain @ Junkyard Social Club in Boulder

On Sunday June 4th, 5-7pm Mountain, we are hosting a fun immersive in-person event at the Junkyard Social Club, located at 2525 Frontier Ave Suite A, in Boulder, CO.

Junkyard Social Club

The  Junkyard Social Club is an indoor/outdoor space that is the perfect spot to meet with friends, hop on the WIFI, get snacks and coffeehouse delights from the café, beer, wine, and let the kids romp.

We’ll be taking advantage of this amazing space to use mobile devices to sample the sounds of the junkyard then perform with the sounds.

The event is free for adults. The venue fee charges $12 per child if you want to bring a kid along so they can play in the junkyard while meet https://junkyardsocialclub.org/visit/.

Koala Sampler Workshop and Performances

We’ll kick off the event with a workshop on music creation and performance with found sounds using the amazing Koala Sampler app. We’ll show some tips and tricks to get you up to speed with Koala quickly.

Then we’ll venture into the Junkyard to sample sounds. This will be followed by brief optional performances.

Koala Sampler is like having an $5 SP-303 in your pocket. It runs on iOS and Android. You can download it here https://www.koalasampler.com.

It works great on a phone, and also on a tablet. If you are using a tablet without cellular please download the app ahead of time.

Cafe

In addition to the indoor stage and outdoor junkyard area, they have a cafe area with coffee, tea, and small bites. They also have beer, wine, and cocktails. Please arrive hungry for snacks and drinks to support the venue.
